Bowling & Hockey

The buzz of the ball surging and spinning vigorously down the lane; The crash of the pins; the looks of exhilaration; The high fives; The sportsmanship and comradely between (opposing) teams. Bowling is a unknown sports amongst Morris County High School. But you can expect bowling to rocket in popularity, much like Volleyball has in the past 5 years. I was fortunate enough to head to Hanover Lanes yesterday and see this myself. Morris County has 7 active teams, four of which compete in the New Jersey Bowling League. The League was formed by Griff Hughes, a teacher from Livingston and resident of Hanover Township, in the late 90’s. Currently, the League has 9 teams – Chatham, Morris Hills, Morris Knolls, Morris County School of Technology, Livingston, Weequahic, Summit and Seton Hall. Note that this is a league and not a conference. To be recognized as a new conference by the NJSIAA, they need one more team!

Coach Carchietta will be at Mennen Arena today 4:15 for Kinnelon-MH and 8:15 Randolph-Mo-Beard.You can get live scoring updates here.
