Friday Night Recap

The Boys Basketball MCT will be held today at CCM. The games will begin at 6 p.m. tonight. #3-seeded Chatham faces Cinderella Morris Hills (#10) in the opener. The Cougars have won both match-ups, the first by 10 and most recently, a 28-point decision on February 8.

The nightcap, scheduled to start about 8 pm, #8 Roxbury will look for another MCT upset. The Gaels will face the 4-seed, and defending champion, Delbarton. MorrisCountyVarsity.net will have a guest reporter at the game. You can see live updates at: http://www.dailyrecord.com

Winter Track: Both Hanover Park Girls and Boys teams placed second in the Group 2 Championships yesterday in Toms River. The HP Girls (33 points) were runners up to state powerhouse Hopewell Valley (60 pts) and were followed up with a strong showing by the Mendham (25 pts).

Always one of the best nights for Girls Hoops in Morris County produced two double digits victories. The #1 seed, undefeated Morris Catholic displayed their impenetrable press and versatile flex offense defeating Hanover Park 53-26. West Morris used a more quiet, but just as effective in your face defense to stop Chatham 49-26. FDU is great venue for this event and one of my favorite events to attend.

Today, I will be at Morristown H.S. for District 9 Wrestling. Now down to the final four in each weight class, the young wrestlers seasons are on the line.

Live Updates can be found here starting at 10 a.m.
