MCT Rain Delay

Rain ruins the day!

The MC Track Championships have been moved to Thursday.

The MCT Girls Softball Final has been moved to Thursday.

The MCT Boy Baseball has been already moved to Thursday.

====================

So where does that leave us?

I was not happy with the crowd numbers at Brundage on Thursday. I am not sure if the Baseball MCT’s game being held between Morris Hills and Randolph at the same time, had anything to do with the low attendance.

But … bang … the Baseball & Softball Finals are being held at the same time. This is just an oddity due to Rain date rescheduling, but it is a huge shame. I am being greedy here, but this is simply a bad predicament for a sports fan such as myself.

I was never a big fan of the stacking of games for the MCT. I agree that the past set up allowed for one team to ride one pitcher through the tournament. The new way forces a team to use their pitching staff. But, at least the old way allowed a team to still compete for the conference and not use their arms on Saturday and Sunday. Some teams played 10-12 games in 14 days. This simply depletes the staff and punishes a team for being successful. Where is the middle zone? Should a High School team really be four pitchers deep?
