Bonds makes history

Barry Bonds is the new all-time home run king. I remember when Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa were battling it out to break the long standing single season home run record. At the time, I assumed they were juiced up in one way or another. I remember the excitement, the love and fanaticism brought back to the game of baseball by McGuire and Sosa – and Griffey when he wasn’t hurt. Most importantly I remember other players on opposing teams rooting for those two mad bombers. When McGuire hit the home run, the members of the opposing team where congratulating the McGuire. The one thing I will always remember about Bonds’ HR, was the look – or complete lack of interest – expressed on the opposing bench, on the players on the field and most of all, the quick, hard look from the catcher as Bonds approached the plate.

As a kid, as a player and as a coach, I will always cherish one special phrase: “For the love of the game.”

The athletic office at Chatham High School has been informed that Cougars'
Varsity Men's Basketball Coach, Mr. Todd Ervin and Cougars' Varsity Men's
Lacrosse Coach, Mr. Steve Manitta, have been selected our state’s Coach of the
Year in Men's Basketball and Men's Lacrosse for the New Jersey
Scholastic Coaches Association for the 2006-2007 seasons.

Coaches Ervin and Manitta were selected by the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches
Association Board of Governors and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic
Association to receive this most prestigious award. Additionally, coaches Ervin
and Manitta will be competing for the National Federation
Coaches Association Sectional Award, which consists of eight states in the
northeast region of the United States.

This award will be presented to coaches Ervin and Manitta on April 6th, 2008, at
the NJSCA Hall of Fame luncheon in Edison, NJ.

Amazing CTR on PPP

As many of you have noticed, for time to time, I will post various Pay-Per-Post, (referred to as PPP from her on), advertisements throughout the blog and between various coverage and commentary. I guess I should start out by thanking the people interested the materials I have advertised. I choose the material sparingly and try to post only topics or merchandise that I feel my readers will value and maybe interested in. Amazingly, the PPP advertisements have returned a 10.545% average ctr (click through rate). Amazing you ask? About 1 out of 10? YES! You also notice that I have also used click-through ads, like Google Adsense and the return less than 0.5%. That’s less than half a percent. Other click throughs I used are much less than that.

I found the answer today. The people at PPP researched their sponsored posts and calculated that they deliver a 10.545% average ctr.

I had been wondering about the value of the PPP advertisements. Like I said, I only choose the ones that I feel are valuable to my readers, but after looking at the numbers, it is clear that PPP blogs will continue to show up on this blog. It is apparent that this is a valued advertising technique and one that benefits me and my readers.
