The Ladies Elegant Eight

Who dat? Where and When?

  • Sunday - 12:00: #7 Mendham at #2 Roxbury

  • Sunday - 1:00: #11 Mt. Olive at #3 Randolph

  • Sunday - 2:30: #8 Chatham at #1 Morris Catholic

  • Sunday - 2:30: #5 Kinnelon at #4 Morristown

At stake: A trip to the Final Four and advancement to in the MCT. Winners play at Morris Catholic back to back next Sunday.

What to expect: These are four really intriguing match-ups. Mt. Olive and Randolph features two Iron Division foes who are vary familiar with each other. The rest is the first time match-up. One thing’s for sure, nerves must be left on the bus. Too many times, an early goal can decide a game because a team is a little shell shocked by the “importance” of an MCT game.

What to avoid: As previously stated, early game jitters, it’s just another game … go play! Stick with what got you’re here. Obviously, a team may need to adjust a bit to match up with their opponent or take advantage of a beneficial situational or match-up, but you’ve come this far … play your game!

Game #1: Sunday 12:00 Mendham at Roxbury: Mendham and Knolls played a tough in your face defense that denied each team to advance and create quality chances. You should really expect the same this weekend. If Mendham has chances from the corner, a place where Sassy Weinstein is right at home developing play, Mendham can find an opening. Roxbury on the other hand excels at getting the ball to net, and at the same time, excels at not allowing their opponents an offensive charge. Roxbury learned early what can happen when the defense relaxes, but the Gaels have held to their early season promise to play 80 minutes. This may go longer …

Going into Sunday: Mendham defeated Chatham 2-1 and improved to 8-3. Jackie Krostek’s late goal gave the Minutemen their second victory over the Cougars this year. Mel Pierson was strong in net with 12 saves. Mendham defeated Morris Knolls 1-0 last Sunday to advance to the quarterfinal round. Photos http://www.printroom.com/ViewGallery.asp?userid=VinnyC01&gallery_id=868031; Video Highlights: Mendham 1-0 Mo. Knolls Mendham travels to West Essex today (Friday), while Roxbury was rained out on Thursday vs. Morrstown – but the game is scheduled for today at 4:00. Roxbury defeated Mtn Lakes 5-0, jumping to a 4-0 lead at the half.

Game #2 Sunday - 1:00: Mt. Olive at Randolph: Meeting #2 for the Rams and the Marauders. Alyssa Hackleberg and company shut out Mt. Olive in the first week of the season. Mt. Olive is the only sub-500 team left in tournament, but do not let their record fool you. Anything can happen in the MCT … and it usually does.

Going into Sunday: Danielle Crowley scored the lone goal to propel Mt. Olive to the upset victory a week ago, Sunday. Courtney Burghardt stopped all 9 shot West Morris threw at her. Randolph jumped to an early 2-0 lead before eliminating Parsippany Hills. Leah Endelman scored twice, both in the first half, for the Rams in the MCT victory. Mt. Olive is schedules to play Belvidere today.

Game #3 Sunday - 2:30: Chatham at Morris Catholic: The Crusaders are rolling along and are currently at 11-0. The Crusaders had a few close ones early, a couple one goal wins over Newark Academy and MKA. But have since turned it up a notch, the latest, a 2-0 victory over Peddie. Chatham is actually in a good spot, being that the Cougars play all home games on turf. This lessens that home-turf advantage usually faced by a home-grass playing team.

Going into Sunday: Morris Catholic defeated Morris Hills 4-1, while Chatham knocked off Villa Walsh. The Cougars, now 9-3 are looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to Mendham and knock off the #1-seed. Morris Catholic looks to keep their winning streak alive at home in the second game of a Soccer double-header held hosted Denville.

Game #4 Sunday - 2:30: Kinnelon at Morristown: This is the most intriguing game and forerunner for the MCHSS.net marquee match-up. Kinnelon, now 9-1-2, know that they are up against a physical and battle tested Morristown Squad. The postponement of Thursday’s game to today may be a blessing for Kinnlelon. The Colts host Verona today, a team they defeated 6-1 in mid-September. The Colts seem to be healthy and that only spruces up the scoring power of the Morba-Flood connection. Morristown also has 9 wins to their credit. The Colonials also present a balanced scoring combination with Becky Arndt and Kerry Prime. Brenna Lade has been sharp for the Colonials and may be forced to answer a few calls on Sunday.

Going into Sunday: Morristown with a 9-2-1 record will only have one day to rejuvenate after what will be a hard fought battle with Roxbury today. Kudos to both Roxbury and Morristown, who could have easily pushed the game after this weekend. This will defiantly be a battle as was their first meeting – Video & Story: 9/15 – Girls Soccer Roxbury 2 - 0 Morristown with photos at Girls Soccer- Roxbury 2 - 0 Mo-town. and Morristown, who could have easily pushed the game after this weekend. Kinnelon defeated Parsippany 2-1 in the previous round. Morristown shut out an explosive Hanover Park Squad, 3-0.

Field Hockey MCT: Final 4

The 2007 Morris County Tournament is now down to four. Last year, Madison defeated Boonton in the finals last year on the turf at Madison. It was Madison’s 13th Morris County Championship. Morristown will host Pequannock. The Colonials we also knocked out last year by a semifinal loss to Madison.

Game Schedule

Semifinal’s -- Saturday October 13th
  • Boonton at Madison 11:30AM – at Madison HS
  • Pequannock at Morristown 2:00PM – (Harter Road Complex)

Finals will be on Saturday, October 20th at Mountain Lakes.

Boonton at Madison:

Boonton: The Bombers earned the #4-seed. They are ranked #6 in Group 1, #3 in Morris by The Star Ledger. I would think they are right on the fringe of the top 20 since the defeated #12 Pingry on October 2nd by a score of 2-1. The Bomber avenged an opening day 2-0 loss. Last year’s MCT runner-up are currently 10-1-3 and coming off a 3-0 shutout victory over Glen Ridge.

Marquee win: You guessed it, handing Pingry their sole loss of the season, as mentioned above.

How the Bombers got here:

  • Defeated #13 Mount Olive: A 1-0 victory, a game kept close by Mt. Olive’s standout keeper Nicole Diana. The Bombers peppered the sharp keeper with 15 shots. Renee Norton scored the game winning goal.

  • Defeated #5 West Morris: Norton strikes again. The senior sniper gave the Bombers a quick 1-0 lead. Norton set up Kim Poniken later in the second half and led Boonton back to the Semi-finals with a 2-0 victory. This time, it was the Bombers net minder that needed to stand tall. Megan Bosland thwarted the Highlanders offensive attack, stopping all 13 shots.

What you can expect for the Bomber to pull the upset: It’s a simple fact that Boonton does not have the offense prowess of the Dodgers. Not only that, but the visitors are not as familiar with the turf as their host. Madison has 5 players on top of the County’s goal scoring list even before Jess Baker is listed at #14. So how? Defense has to choke the Dodgers’ attack and play the game of their young lives. Bosland needs to make the key saves, and at the same time kick away the rebounds. Passes across the crease cannot be allowed. Corners must be kept to minimum.

Madison: What can be said about the high powered Dodgers that has not already been stated. This is one great team. You’re talking about a high school team with skills that are at the same level as many college players. (* And yes, I was in attendance at more than a few D-III game in the past few years. *) Madison was voted the #1-seed and deservedly so. The returning MCT champions are currently ranked #4 in New Jersey by The Star Ledger, #2 in Group 2 behind West Essex. The Dodgers last game was a 3-0 victory over Millburn – improving to a perfect 12-0 on the season.

Marquee win: All of the Dodgers win have been very impressive, including a 7-0 victory over #4-seed Pequannock earlier in September. The 4-0 victory over Knolls as well as 3-0 triumph over Millburn rank right up there.

How the Dodgers got here:

  • Defeated #16 Butler: After defeating Butler 5-0 just a few days earlier, the Dodgers exploded for 12 against the Bulldogs. Eight different Dodgers connected for Madison. Emily Kole had three.

  • Defeated #8 Morris Knolls: Madison defeated Morris Knolls 4-0. The Dodgers held the potentially aggressive Golden Eagle offense to only two shots. Taylor Siegrist scored two of the four goals.

What you will in Dodger win: Just play their game. It’s no secret that Madison can score. The Dodgers can and will control the ball for almost the entire game. The Dodgers pass with extreme accuracy, which is only magnified on turf. They’re fast. Defensively, they’re very strong. Boonton will have a hard time gaining the lead, especially if Madison gets an early lead.

Pequannock at Morristown:

Pequannock: The #3-seed is currently 12-1, a fantastic season by any means. Their only loss was to Madison. The Golden Panthers are currently ranked #4 by the Star Ledger in Morris County and #6 in Group 2.

Marquee win: I am going with a 1-0 victory over Millburn, although the 2-1 victory over Mtn Lakes is also a great one.

How the Panthers got here:

  • Defeated #14 Randolph: Kelsey Finocchiaro scored both goals for Pequannock as the Golden Panthers advanced in an extremely relentless defensive battle. Pequannock improved to 9-1 with the opening MCT victory.

  • Defeated #6 Mountain Lakes: Kelsey Finocchiaro got Pequannock on the scoreboard first, her third goal in the two MCT games. Bridget Morstatt scored the game winner early in the second half. The goal held and the Panthers advanced to the Semi-final round. Allie Liberato recorded 10 saves and held off a potent Laker’s attack.

What you can expect for the Panthers to advance: Again, no secret. Pequannock needs to control the tempo, slow down Morristown and convert … all while limiting Morristown’s chances in front of the net. Pequannock’s defense has been stellar and you can expect the same. Liberato will have to come up big and not allow the Colonials get a 2 or 3 goal lead. Finocchiaro will also continue her MCT scoring streak.

Morristown: The #2-seed is still undefeated at 12-0-1. The Colonials are coming in off of a 3-0 shutout victory over Mt. Olive. Morristown is currently ranked #9 in New Jersey by The Star Ledger and #2 in Group 3.

Marquee win: A 4-1 victory over Morris Knolls really sent a statement. Read about the early season Victory: Click here.

How the Colonials got here:

  • Defeated #15 Morris Hills: The Colonials exploded for four 1st-half goals. Ali Blankmeyer and Caitlin O’Keeffe both contributed with two goals a piece. Danielle Rudolph scored the fifth. Morristown launched 15 shots at the Morris Hills’s Keeper. The win improved Morristown to 7-0 on the season.

  • Defeated #7 Mendham: Kelly Duggan and Danielle Randolph connected for the Colonials. The 2-0 victory enabled Morristown to advance to the Semifinal round.

What you can expect for the Colonials to advance: Morristown moves the ball extremely well down the field. They have a definitely sense of where the next pass is going to be. Morristown will need to convert on corners and obviously hold Pequannock to a minimum amount of corners. Morristown is undefeated for a reason and very fun to watch. If the Colonials get to open play up and keep the ball moving, they are great at creating scoring channels and even batter at crashing the net.

MCT - Boys Quarterfinal Preview

#8 Roxbury @ #1 Delbarton (Sunday 1 p.m.):

I definitely – and mistakenly – omitted the Whippany Park-Roxbury game last week. I did not realize the mistake until Monday. My apologies to the Gaels and their followers. The Gaels are coming into this match-up off an impressive 4-0 victor over West Morris, but then fell to Morristown, 3-0. Ryan Hurdes led the way with two goals. Kyle Swaneveld and Shaun Silver also found the net in the victory. Delbarton is still undefeated and really has not been challenged for over a month.

Signature Wins Thus Far: Delbarton has two; a 3-0 victory over St. Benedict’s and a 2-1 victory over Prep power The Hun School. The 4-0 victory over West Morris is very impressive, although a 5-0 win over Livingston holds just as much water.

The Numbers: 1 - The Green Wave have only let in one goal since playing Hun on September 25th. 11 - Goals by Ryan Hurdles, Roxbury's leading scorer.

The Outlook: My two soccer experts insist that Delbarton has too much depth and balance to get beat before the finals. I have to argue that Roxbury has been doing what they need to do in order to win. Playing Thursday in the rain does not fair well for the Gaels, who may have gotten caught with their eyes on this game.
#5 Par Hills @ #4 Morris Catholic (Sunday 12:00): Par Hills may have been looking to change their mascot to the Heat-miser. Mr. One-Hundred and one himself, David Przybylo is the county’s leading goal scorer. The Vikings come in at 9-2, and have a tough loss to Chatham. The Vikings fell to Chatham 5-1 in a Friday night game at Cougar Field. Parsippany Hills travels to Morris Hills on Friday. The Crusaders are simply undefeated since dropping their season opener to Pingry. The home turf looks to give Morris Catholic a nice advantage.

Signature Wins Thus Far: Parsippany Hills holds a few; a 4-1 victory over Morris Hills, a 5-3 battle with Mendham and an impressive win last Sunday over Randolph. Morris Catholic has a 2-1 victory over SCIL-power Sparta.

The Numbers: Crusader keeper Anthony Rogic has 5 shut outs to his credit. 1987 was the last, and only, time that the Vikings have won the IHC title (either division).

The Outlook: All three of us picked Morris Catholic here. The Vikings lost 5-1 the last time they played on turf. The Crusaders are very familiar to the bounces of their home field.

#14 Morristown @ #11 Morris Hills (Sunday 2:00):

In last week’s preview, I had mentioned that the Colonials are opportunists. They took advantage of their chances against Chatham and will have a definite height advantage over the Scarlet Knights. Morris Hills has made quite an impressive run, most recently shutting out Mendham twice in the same week.

Signature Wins Thus Far: Morris Hills’ signature win came without their leading scorer and at the hands of their solid goalkeeper Rafael Diaz. Morristown’s could easily be their season opener, a 4-3 victory over Roxbury, but I need to go with their upset of Chatham last week.

The Numbers: 4 – The numbers of goals scored by Rodrigo Santiago in his first game back after a red card against Summit. 3 - the number of goals scored in today's win over Roxbury.

The Outlook: Morris Hills was very fortunate to keep Mendham off the board Sunday. Diaz made three spectacular, superman-like saves in the shutout. Morristown has the size and the players to match up with the Knights and frustrate the Morris Hills attackers. Diaz will need be as strong as ever. Morristown is primed to pull the road upset, again.

#7 Montville @ #2 Kinnelon (Sunday 2:00): Did I mention that all four games feature teams from different conferences. This is the first meeting of the season for each opponent in each quarterfinal. Kinnelon is one of two undefeated left in Morris County. You can say all you want about their strength of schedule, but the 4-0 victory over Whippany Park was quite a statement coming into this game. Montville defeated Madison on Sunday, a game that really sent an internal message to the Mustangs.

Signature Wins Thus Far: I have to go with Montville’s 1-0 win over Madison last Sunday. The Mustangs avoided the upset and beat Madison twice in three days. Kinnelon held off a late charge in a 3-2 MCT win over Knolls.

The Numbers: 13 – The shots on net taken by the mustangs in a 1-0 victory over Madison last Sunday. 2 – Kinnelon’s Group this season, The Colts move up to Group 2 after a few years at Group 1. Also, the number of MCT victories in one season for the Colts. Can anyone remember the last time that he Colts won two games in the MCT? This may very well be the 1st time if they win.

The Outlook: Kinnelon in no panic nor did that have that “small school” look I have seen in teams when it comes MCT time. Montville played Delbarton tough, a 2-0 loss earlier, but may not have enough to knock off the Colts here.

Swami & Coach -- Week 6

Swami & Coach Attack Week 6

I picked all 6 winners, but make up no ground on the infamous Swami. The guy is unreal. I am looking for Saturday to be “The day that Morris County and the Coach Catch-up!”

Listen, Coach, the Swami finally is able to wear his cape, turban and feel comfortable in the fall air as that relentless heat has finally subsided. With that being the case, and crystal ball no longer in sweaty hands mind you, the sideline guru is ready to keep rolling!

Just a side note, Morris Hills will host Hanover Park on Saturday. The Scarlet Knights will be honoring former head coach Cliff Back. Coach Back led Hills to a 17-7-3 record in his three year tenure. The Scarlet Knights won two JHC Championships in those three years.

The Coach: Last Week: 6-0 -- Season: 22-8

The Swami: Last Week: 6-0 -- Season: 24-6

Friday, Oct.12:

Livingston at Mount Olive:

Coach: Mt. Olive was smack dab in the way of the Seton Hall Prep train that was just about to start moving down hill. The Marauders also looked as if one of their speedsters had a bad wheel. This is not a good thing, considering that Livingston is coming to town. The Lancers are not about to surprise anyone anymore … Livingston 28-14

Swami: Although I like the makeup of this Livingston team, with athletic Mike Genovese at quarterback, the versatile Vinny Fischer as a runner and receiver, and a strong line led by John Hartwick, I don’t think this is a great spot for the Lancers on the road. Perhaps Mount Olive was playing a bit over its heads the first month, but this is still a fleet-footed and capable home-standing squad with Kenny Little a difference maker. Mount Olive 28-21.

East Orange at Randolph:

The Coach: The Rams are now in a must win situation. That being the case, East Orange is not the team you want run into. East Orange is team much like Morristown with a tenacious defense and an explosive offense. The Rams can win this game, but East Orange is just hot. Marion Bell and his Jaguars average 30 points a game. The Rams cannot keep up. East Orange 35-14

The Swami: North 1, Group 4 better watch out because East Orange Campus just might be a favorite to win the section if it continues to progress. The Jaguars needed a late TD to edge Livingston last week, but standouts such as RB Keion Wade, wide receiver Aasim Cunningham and DB Daniel Stover, this group has all the essential weapons to explode on the road as well. Randolph is very tough if RB Frank Beltre can get jump-started and QB Mike Suk is connecting on his short and medium-range routes, plus kicker Mike McKeen is always a threat from 40 yards out with his field goals, but, I just think a little too much Jaguars’ speed and big-play ability. East Orange 27-24.

Saturday, Oct. 13:

Lakeland (4-1) at Delbarton (4-1): Ahhh.. Delbarton homecoming, Morris County’s finest tailgate. MCHSS.net will be on hand, as will The Star Ledger’s Sean Reilly. If you’re lucky, the Swami and the Hoff will join us and we’ll set up a dunking booth. 25-cents a ball, all money goes to charity … all kidding aside … Delbarton still hasn’t played to the level of their opener vs. St. Pete’s, but have still gone 4-0 after the heart breaking loss. Obviously, Butler and Pequannock were outmatched by the Wave, so maybe that’s not a fair comment. But Madison and DePaul were battles until the final whistle. Lakeland is also 4-1 and this is definitely the game of The Coach’s Marquee Match-up … Lakeland wants to be this year’s Montville and knock off the Wave, but Coach Bowers’ squad will not be denied on homecoming. Delbarton 28-14

The Swami: The immortal sideline guru will be at another top-notch Homecoming event in Essex County at MKA, on hand to see if Mountain Lakes’ immortal Coach Doug Wilkins can notch career victory No. 300 as he very well should against the resurgent Cougars. But, I must forewarn the Delbarton parents to keep Reilly away from the meatball tray. Otherwise, the Ledger’s Morris aficionado will devour those delicacies in short order. Meanwhile, the game itself could be a very physical affair, and despite Lakeland’s impressive first month, I still don’t see the Lancers winning in this spot, despite the fact there are Northern Hills coaches out there who beg to differ with the Swami on that count. Delbarton usually gets much better as the season wears on, which is a tribute to its coaching staff, which is top notch, and the fact players who were banged up or absent in the beginning, are ready to go. Depth is the Green Wave strength along with its fabulous offensive line, led by Van Orden, Passaro and company. Do I sense a sunami cresting?...Roll with the Wave. Delbarton 34-20.

Madison at Caldwell (nail-biter!):

Coach: Madison benefited from some last second heroics in a 14-13 win over Montville. Some people, O.K., maybe just me, expected Madison to throw all the Mustangs. Caldwell’s defense should be just as tight and cause fits for the Dodgers power attack. Caldwell is 4-1, yup, 4-1 and coming off two straight shut outs. The Coach has been picking too many Essex teams lately, so I am all over the Dodgers here … Madison 14-13.

The Swami: Yes, Madison barely survived overtime in its narrow win in regulation against Montville last week, and the Dodgers had suffered a couple of close defeats at the hands of Delbarton and Lakeland. That latter note about almost winding up on the long side against the Suburban Division’s two best teams makes me want to still think Madison is due to break out. Taking on Caldwell at Bonnel Field is never easy in a “50-50” type game such as this, but the Chiefs are a little banged up with standout two-way back and tri-captain Buddy Francisco sidelined with a concussion suffered in last week’s victory at DePaul. Caldwell still has the electric Derek Lawshe to get the job done at quarterback, and the Chiefs will be right there with the Dodgers, but we also like Chris Kubik’s team to win this one, which could be a real dandy. Madison 20-17

Weequahic at Chatham: Mendham was all over Weequahic for three quarters. Chatham was really in charge all game against Mendham. The Cougars just seem unlucky. They have a line that is very disciplined and really allows its running backs to work 4-5 yards a pop. This is definitely one that should not get away from the Cougars, as long as they keep the call on the ground and control the clock as they have all year. This should be the start of a 3-game winning streak and a playoff spot. Chatham 28-6

The Swami: Altarik White is working wonders with his very young Weequahic football team, with eight sophomores in key spots for the defending Central Jersey, Group 2 playoff champs. Rashon Vines remains a running back to keep an eye on at all times, but Chatham’s defense is physical and capable, and the Cougars are, like Madison, better than their record indicates. Plus, Chatham has splendid athletes of its own in guys like Campbell Wood and Kyle Kopacz. A tough spot for the Indians on the road and the Cougars can sense their schedule is becoming much more favorable over the next three weeks. Chatham 20-8

Morris Catholic at Verona: This is one of those games that a prognosticator wants no part of predicting. Take a look at the coaches, Coach Greg Lusardi has really done a great job and this should be noted. I never expected Morris Catholic to be 3-2 at this point, none the less hang with Boonton. Verona, too is well coached and is has moved in the right direction, now at 3-1. Morris Catholic’s defense has only allowed six points in the past two weeks – but it needs to be noted that the Crusaders faced Whippany Park without Bizzarro and Kinnelon with an ailing Neinstedt. Both those teams are 100% different when those two are healthy. People from larger schools or programs have no idea what the loss of a key player can do to a small-school program. Catholic is a young squad and has the ball bounce their way. Verona can change that. Verona 28-17

The Swami: Unlike last year, when it had a powerhouse team with numerous senior standouts, this Verona team has definitely flown under the radar so far this fall, which might be a good thing for the Hillbilly faithful, who have been distracted by off-the-field discussions over what happened last summer in the now infamous incident that affected four players, three of whom now play elsewhere. With that being said, Verona still has talent and a bunch of good kids who work extremely hard under a top-flight coaching staff headed by Lou Racioppe. Carlo Calabrese, the QB-linebacker, is one of the county’s top all-around talents and a certain D-1A prospect. Morris Catholic is in for a tough time here, even with its gradual improvement under Greg Lusardi, who is one of the nice people in the coaching business. Unfortunately, for him, it’s the Hillbillies who cross the goal line more often. Verona 27-13.

Morris Hills 1-0 Mendham

Girls MCT: Mendham 1-0 Mo. Knolls

Field Hockey: Randolph over Morris Hills

Boys MCT: Montville over Madison

Montville Survives, 1-0 in OT

#7 seed Montville scored with under one minute in the second overtime to beat #10 seed Madison and advance to the MCT round of eight.

Montville may have taken the Dodgers a little too lightly. If that’s the case, then the Mustangs were mistaken. Madison pressured early with Josh Lewis having to make two difficult saves. Lewis punched one shot just over the crossbar and dove on a ball to prevent a breakaway. The Montville defense led by Juan Pablo Correa and Ben Lewis was solid the result of the way, allowing only three shots on goal the entire game. The Mustangs best threat was when Sam Gehman dribbled just inside the 18 and rifled a shot that went off the crossbar. After a scoreless first half, Montville controlled the tempo but could not score. Gehman had another golden chance to score off a shot from 40 yards out that curved right swerved left, hit the underside of the crossbar, and was swept out of the net by goalie Perry Drew as it was on the line. The next opportunity for the Mustangs came when Montville was awarded a penalty kick. Kyle Feathers took the kick and shot to the lower right corner but Drew was there to make the save. Montville and Madison could not score, so we were headed to overtime.

In the first overtime, Montville controlled possession but still could not put the biscuit in the basket. There best chance came off a bicycle kick from Eukene Okrene that went just wide. In the second overtime, Mike Butrym received his second yellow card and was sent off. Then with under a minute to go and the game nearing penalties, Correa sent Gehman a long pass down the right side and Gehman dribbled past Drew and sent his shot into the back of the net as the Montville sideline rushed the field in celebration. Gehman gave all the credit to JP (Correa) for his goal, and said, “He had the easy part.”

After the game, Coach Myers of Montville stressed that his team must take be ready game and be a cohesive unit in order to advance in this tournament and keep winning games the rest of the season. The Mustangs had 13 shots on goal to the Dodgers 3. Montville now stand at 7-1-1 as Josh Lewis posted his seventh shutout with three saves, while Madison fell to 7-5. Montville will face Kinnelon in the next round of the MCT.
