Finals at Lenape

103 – Corey Kozimer (Hackettstown) vs. Alex LeGrande (Mt. Olive)Stalemate to open up; 1:45 left in 1st; Kozimer takes a shot, they lock up and Koz tries an underhook; Kozimer breaks down and grabs an ankle, gets teh takedown as LeGrande scoots out of bounds; Koz has teh legs in and sinks in a galantine for three; add two more near fall for a 7-0 lead. Koz has LeGrande on back almost all of the 2nd; 2nd Period ends 10-0; 3rd period starts in neutral. stalemate near the 1 minute mark and LeGrande takes down Kozimer; Koz reverses at 0:10; FINAL 12-2 KOZIMER

112 – Gabe Ramos (Hopatcong) vs. Travis Tjong (Hackettstown)

Ramos hooks a leg after a tie up and has the first take down. 2-0. 1:07 left in the first, restart; Ramos on top; Ramos turns Tjong and gains three near fall; 5-0 as the 1st period ends; Ramos chooses defense for period 2; Ramos works for an escape with 1:25 left 6-0 lead; Tjong has a nice single leg, but Ramos works for the tie up and stalemate; restart at 0:53 -- Ramos quick tag down with about 8 seconds left makes it 8-0;

Third starts in neutral; Tjong shoots and get a single, Ramos breaks him down to his belly and works around back for two; 30 seconds left; Ramos works in a bar and gains 3 NF as the buzzer goes off; FINAL: Ramos 13-0

Ramos earns a quick take down and Wrede escapes just 20 seconds in; Fast pace match and Wrede takes injury time after being poked in the eye; Ramos shoots and Wrede gets banged with a staling warning; Wrede starts on bottom; Ramos has a near ankle and far wrist, but nothing happens as the end up out of bounds; restart at 1:30; Ramos get banged for stalling; Wrede sits out and escapes for 1; Ramos has a leg with Wrede on top and works around back for two; Wrede leads 4-2 with 20 seconds left; Wrede works in a bar an tilts Ramos for 2 NF as teh period ends; 6-2 end of 2;

Ramos starts on bottoms and Wrede has a half and is trying to run it. Wrede works in a leg but a stalemate stops teh match; 52 seconds left; Wrede has a leg and is working in a 3-quarter, but another stalemate; 30 seconds ... 3 NF on a tilt as the buzzer sounds;

Final: Wrede win the LVHT for the second year in a row. 9-2

Morris earns a take down quickly and sink the legs right in; (2-0) Morris tries to throw in a cradle, Taylor isn't allowing much; Stalemate stops it with 32 seconds left in 1st; Morris sinks in the cradle with 15 seconds left and gains 3 NF; 5-0 at the end of 1;

Taylor start on top and not much happens for the 1st minute of the match; Morris is banged with a staling warning; Taylor sinks in the legs, resulting in a stalemate; Taylor quick reversal on a sit out with 15 seconds left; Morris Escapes; 7-1 to start the 3rd;

Taylor stands on the whistle, but Morris breaks him down and sinks the legs right in; A reversal by Taylor makes it 7-3 with 1:15; Taylor works in a single bar and is running it; Morris is fighting with 20 seconds left; Staling makes it 7-4d; Taylor losses the move and the period ends

FINAL: Morris 7-4

Swanson won this tourn. last year; Bieg has an ankle and tries to get behind; a quick stalemate calls for a restart with 27 seconds left; Same thing now, Bieg is spinning, but cannot get behind Swanson; period ends 0-0; Swanson is on defense to start period 2

Bieg has a string half and one; Swanson will not break down and a potentially dangerous ends the move; 1:25 left; Same spot again; the strong half looks painful; but Swanson will not go; 30 seconds left. Swanson starts on top and works in a weak cradle that Bieg; Bieg reverses; Half and one again;Swanson will not go; stalemate; 22 seconds left; Bieg lets him with 8 seconds left;

FINAL: Bieg wrestles a smart match for a 2-1 win

135 – Talor Ulm (Hackettstown) vs. Julian Berzak (Montville)

Ulm won last year's Lenape Tourn. and takes down Berzak at 1:25 of the 1st; 45 seconds left as we restart; Blood time ... Ulm cuts Berzak, 2-1; Ulm is jsut quick and gets a single leg, turned to a double and earns a take down with 12 seconds left; Period 1 ends 4-1;

Ulm escapes and takes down Berzak (7-1 with1:35 left). Ulm workds in a cradle, but loses it on the turn, Berzak escapes (7-2); Ulm lands on his knee and down with injury time; Ulm uses all time and is back on he mat;

Ulm starts on bottom and leads 7-2; Berzak gets too high is reversed by Ulm. Ulm works in a cradle, but cannot turn Berzak; 9-2 with 44 seconds left; Penalty point awarded to Ulm; 10-2; Ulm sinks in another tight craddle and turns Berzak for 3 NF as the buzzer sounds;

FINAL : ULM wins 13-2

140 – AJ Pagano (Hopatcong) vs. Sean Collins (Randolph)

Collins has a leg, but the two result in stalemate; 33 seconds left after the restart; Pagano shoots and almost gets two on the edge, but both he and Collins are out; Period ends 0-0;

2nd Collins chooses down and escapes; Collins shoots and gets in deep, but Pagano holds the far ankle; Collins is scooting back and finally gets far enough for 2; 3-0 and the seconds period ends;

3rd period; Pagano is on bottom and Collins breaks him down immediately; Pagain works to a base, but Collins works in the legs and both guys get banged for stalling; 45 seconds left; Stalling at 23 for riding parallel makes it 3-1 Collins; Pagano's gramby at the end is stopped;
FINAL Colins wins 3-1

145 – Eric DiColo (Mt Olive) vs. Corey Vernon (Hackettstown)

This could be the match of the night!

DiColo sinks in a single, but cannot get two. DiColo whizzars Vernon to his back with a full minute left. Vernon looks pinned, but gets out and escapes. 5-1 with 18 seconds left; Vernon takes 42 seconds injury time;

Vernon chooses down; DiColo has a half, but is very high; Vernon stands with it; DiColo gets the whistle; still 5-1 1:26 left in 2nd; Vernon escapes with 53 seconds left in the 2nd 5-2; DiColo sprawls off a shot and spins around for a quick 2; 7-2 with 25 seconds left in the 2nd; End of 2nd 7-2;

Vernon start with a shot and catches DiColo in a half; DiColo fights but ends up in the back; only giving up two; 7-6 DiColo with 56 left. Vernon turns him again making it 9-7; Injury time on a potentially dangerous, that is why there is not a fourth point; 9-7 with 0:52;

DiColo uses 1:02 of injury -- and escapes 9-8 Vernon. Vernon does it again with the leg and half andpins DiColo at 5:26 -- NOTES: Great match! The refs are fantastic! These is a great group and very, very good on the mat!

FINAL: Vernon win by pin; wins fourth Lenape Valley Holiday Tourn.

152 – Owen Vernon (Hackettstown) vs. Mike Olivo (Lenape Valley)

Vernon gets a quick take down. 2-0; Vernon get a quick 2 Near Fall on a tilt at the buzzer; Vernon chooses top; Period 2 starts with Vernon leading 4-0;

Vernon gets his legs in a and a half after Vernon sits off the whistle, this results in a stalemate; Vernon tries a tilt with a single bar, but cannot get a count; End of 2nd still 4-0;

Vernon reverses at the 1:35 mark; 6-0 1 minute left; Olivo reverses with 20 seconds left and then gets 1 penalty against him;

Final: Vernon dec 5-2

Not much action as the two wait for an oppurtunity. Period ends 0-0;

Hackettstown Mitchell chooses bottom; Mitchell escapes in 10 seconds, and almost gets caught, but ends up on top for a takedown; 3-0 Mitchell; Mauro escapes with 16 seconds left; period ends 3-1 Mitchell;

Mauro chooses bottom; Mauro get a quick escape making it 3-2; One minute left; Mitchell shoots, and they tie up; a whistle a they go out of bounds; Restart with 36 left; Mauro shoots; Mitchell gets a stall; Mauro shoots, but Mitchell holds an arm and does not give up 2;

FINAL: Mitchell win 3-2

No points; Ulm gets a leg with 40 left; Rosamila ties up the far leg and nothing happens; 0-0 at the end of 1;

Ulm chooses down; Just as it looked Ulm reversed Rosamilla, Rosamilla sinks in a cradle can not get points; Ulm reverses and sinks in a tight reverse half; keeps him on his back till the end of teh period; 5-0 Ulm;

Third starts are Rosamilla pops out the back and gets on top for 2; with 1:12 left - Ulm takes injury time (24 seconds) Staling warning Ulm; Ulm tries to pop out back, but Rosamilla keeps a head lock; Match ends;

189 – Mike Suk (Randolph) vs. Kevin Johnson (Kinnelon)

The Rams' sophomore attacks Johnson off the whistle. Suk shoots and gets a leg, but Johnson is able to get out; restart; Suk shoots again and the two end up out of bounds. another whistle and 1:19 left in 1st 0-0;

Johnson earns two for a take down after spinning behind after a shot. Johnson 2-0; Period ends 2-0 Johnson;

Suk takes bottom; A quick stand up and sit results in locked hands; 2-1 with 1:52 left in period 2; Another quick 1st move to his feet and Suk fights out, we're tie at 2. Suk gets a leg, but Johnson is working a twister as they go out of bounds; (* I could listen to Coach Suk all day; it's just great stuff! *) We're tied at 2 with 30 seconds left and Suk earns a take down. 4-2 Suk with 12 seconds left on the restart; Period 2 ends - Suk 4-2;

Johnson escapes at 1:05 and this is a great battle! 32 seconds left and Suk gets a stall; 8 seconds left still Neutral;

FINAL: Suk wins 4-3

A lot of hand fighting and Leka gets a Bear hug in and has Garone on his back! Pin at 1:13

285 – Zack Rey (Hoptacong) vs Struniewski (Pompton Lakes)

Rey gets a quick take down and Struniewski escapes; Rey gets another takedown and cut him loose twice; 6-3 at the 1 minute mark; 9 seconds later 8-4; 10-5 at 41 seconds; 12-5 at 30 seconds and Rey is working for pin; 2 NF as buzzer goes off; 14-5

Struniewski takes tops and Rey escapes; A takedown and escape makes it 17-6; Another takedown makes it 19-6 with 1:34 left; Rey is working for the pin; Struniewski escapes at 55 19-7, 21-7 after the next cut and a final take down makes it 23-8 with 27 seconds left;

FINAL: Rey Tech fall
