No. 9 Nittany Lion Wrestling Win Over Lehigh to Replay on FSN-Pittsburgh

Fans can see PSU’s 23-12 victory on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; December 21, 2006 – Regional cable sports outlet FSN-Pittsburgh will re-air No. 9 Penn State’s thrilling 23-12 wrestling victory from earlier this month. The Nittany Lions downed Lehigh on live television back on Dec. 8 in front of over 3,000 Rec Hall fans and FSN-Pittsburgh will re-air the dual match on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m.

The exciting win featured six Penn State wins, including red-shirt freshman Dan Vallimont’s (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) 3-1 win over then-No. 8 Trevor Chinn at 149. Other wins for head coach Troy Sunderland’s crew came from Mark McKnight (McDonald, Pa.) at 125, Jake Strayer (South Fork, Pa.) at 133, James Yonushonis (Philipsburg, Pa.) at 174, Phil DavisHarrisburg, Pa.) at 197 and Aaron Anspach (Columbia, Pa.) at HWT. Penn State, ranked No. 9 in the latest USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll, heads into a brief holiday break with a 5-1 record and five individuals ranked in the top ten. The Nittany Lions will visit No. 13 Cornell on Sunday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. Penn State’s next home duals will be on Jan. 26 and Jan. 28 when the Lions welcome Big Ten rivals Ohio State (Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.) and Illinois (Jan 28 at 1 p.m.).
