The best Friday yet?

This maybe the best weekend thus far in HS sports! The MCT begins; Wrestling conference championships are on the line as Boonton travels to Whippany Park; Hanover Park travels to Mendham and Mt. Olive heads to Roxbury. Neither Hanover or Mendham have a conference loss. Mt. Olive needs to win after losing to Livingston. Roxbury is undefeated. Whippany is undefeated and win over Boonton secures a tie. Whippany Still has Cedar Grove, so either a win over Cedar Grove or Kinnelon secures a conference championship for Ficchi and his bunch. Boonton has been on a roll and win gets Kinnelon back in the picture. Kinnelon and Boonton still have to square off.

Friday’s MCT Results: Montville boys used a last second victory to knock off IHC-Iron team Mt. Olive. That makes two straight great wins for the Mustangs. Montville had two scorers in double figures: Mike Todesco with 12 an Matt Vinci with 11. Montville improved to 6-9.

Girls MCT: Villa Walsh improved to 11-3 with a victory over Morristown-Beard. The Vikings lead 30-18 at the half and took in 20 from Tracy Borsinger. Mendham overpowered Dover 56-9. Roxbury knocked in 29 in the 1st quarter on way to a 30 point victory over St. E’s.

Delbarton and Morris Knolls both won in ice hockey action. The Green Wave used 21 saves from Mike Infante and goals from four different players.

Chatham made the IHC boys race a bit more exciting after defeating Par Hills 75-44.

Tons of fun action today. We’ll see you tomorrow!
