Last day to prepare

3-31-07
3-31 the day of infamy for the high school coach. The kids are anxious and excited. Everyone's hopes are high to as they revel in all the great possibilities of the season ahead.

I tried to make "schedule finding" a bit easier. Click Here and you'll all Morris County Schools on one page. Not all teams utilize HighSchoolSports.net. So they'll be blank until I can find it or until they get with the times and do the right thing.

Today was a busy day for The Coach.

9:00 - Softball - Madison @ Morris Catholic
Madison has had a very good preseason and looks to have a promising year. Morris Catholic looked stronger than years past. Very good pitching and a few hitters. Both teams seemed to be missing that solid defense that keeps you in those close games, but it's early. Plenty of time to solidify up the defense.

11:00 - Baseball - Morristown @ Hanover Park

Coach Ury and the Colonials looked very relaxed and both squads looked more than ready to start off the season. These are two teams that are all geared up to battle in a very tough baseball county.

11:00 - Girls Lax - Wayne Valley @ Randolph

The Lady Rams were dominating the Passaic County School. I saw at least 4 goals in the short time I was there ...

12:00 - Baseball - Morris Hills @ Delbarton

I had a few minutes to watch the Delbarton Tennis starts practice. Extremely impressive. Then over to the baseball diamond to watch Delbarton and Morris Hills. Delbarton may have been hit graduation, but no need to worry, this Green Wave can hit. Delbarton looked strong on defense and threw two strong pitchers for the first 8 innings. The Scarlet Knights look deep on the mound and have four legit starters. These are definitely two strong teams.
Ryan Kestel (right) went the second 4 innings of game #1. Kestel is a strong thrower and was clocked at 91 mph last year, then again last week. Another quick note: Scarlet Knight Basketball start Dan Kellner is another hurler in the Morris Hills pitching line.
