SCIL on Oldies 1360

Saturday, I went up to Jefferson for their Media Day. This was a nice event. Team photos were taken, interviews with Seniors and Captains were set up. It’s was simply a great idea and one that every high school should consider. I would have liked to watch about 30 minutes of practice, or run through plays just to get put it all in perspective.

Here’s my idea for an AD: Do the same thing. Set Up a Saturday Morning where every Varsity Team practices at 10 am. Invite the media. Have a place where the media can take pictures of the Seniors and/or Captains. Then set up a Q&A with all the head coaches. Remember one thing … coaches that supply information, give their kids an opportunity to get more coverage.

As always, I get a chance to meet other interested in promoting the H.S. athlete. I ran into Rob Ryan who is one of the SCIL media men from oldies1360.com. They focus only on the SCIL but provide a bunch of information for anyone interested. Here’s their links:

As long as the weather stays friendly, I will be at Parsippany on Tuesday 10:00 a.m. for the Red Hawks and Pequannock. Wednesday, I'll be back up at Jefferson for a tri-scrimmage with Montville & Hanover Park.
