Holy Hanover Park!

If you know the Hanover Park coaching staff, you'll appreciate the title of this post. This really is an amazing time year. As I spoke with a few of my basketball contacts/experts, the consensus was that Hanover would be over matched by Rutherford. But, that's why they play the games. Hanover Park 48 (23-4), Rutherford 41 (25-5) Rutherford was in control for most of the game, but Hanover hung tough and once the momentum shifted in the Hornets' favor, once the mountain was climbed, Rutherford could get the lead back. Key to Hanover's victory included, obviously, free throw shooting; Limiting the supporting cast to almost zero points; Pressing and pressing some more; never giving up. It's amazing what a team that plays together can accomplish. When a team believes in each other and what the coaching staff is preaching to them, it only takes one spark and you can surprise the world. The game was described as a “battle” and had the intensity that is present is any good state championship game.
